Done!!

Well for January anyway! Tomorrow begins the month of love! Let's see how much longer I can keep this up!! Last two pics for this month, thanks to those who've been following I really do appreciate it :)

Day 24. First day of school 2011. Tayla yr.8 & Sammy yr.6 I can't believe my baby girl is in high school!!

Ok here are days 15-17. Have been taking pics everyday, just too tired most nights to blog them :) We've been out & about getting the kids ready for school next week, I can't believe the Summer holidays are nearly over! I'm off this morning to meet up with my beautiful friend & her family, they lost everything apart from what they could save in the recent floods :( it's going to be very emotional!! I'm enjoying everyone's POTD, you girls are amazing! :) xxx

Days 11 & 12..

No doubt you've all heard about what's been happening here in Queensland, Australia! I'm still in shock that this has happened & for Brisbane is still happening! My heart & prayers go out to those who have lost loved ones, to those who have lost everything they own! We were lucky, the Gold Coast got very wet, but that was pretty much it! Most of my family live in Brisbane & I thank God they are safe! I have dear friends who may have lost their beautiful home & anything that they couldn't save & it breaks my heart! but they are safe & that's the most important thing! No work for hubby as Brisbane City is where he works a few of the buildings he visits have water in the basements! Southbank where he is supposed to be tomorrow is quickly going under! There's so much devastation & it's not over yet! The Brisbane River is yet to peak, which will be sometime tomorrow, there are all sorts of things floating down the river! I just pray that the rain holds off & the flood waters ease so the clean up can start & the re-building of our communities can begin! These natural disasters happen all over the world & it's always so sad when you hear about it, when it happens in your backyard & the Government announces that 75% of your state has been declared a disaster zone... it's devastating, it's heart breaking & it makes us realise just how vulnerable we really are! Day 10.

Ripstik fun..

Another birthday party today, this time for my niece's little girl, Miss B is 3 tomorrow! We were at Paradise Point, it's one of our favourite places to go, it has a beautiful park, swings of all descriptions, shops, swimming & lots of paths for scootering, skateboarding, bike riding & riding ripstiks! Sam & Tayla got ripstiks for Christmas, I'm amazed that they've already got the hang of riding them, they're so NOT easy to ride! They had so much fun riding them today, they only stopped for lunch or if the rain started. We were lucky the rain decided to hold off until we were home :)

Today was Avah's birthday party, she had a wonderful time playing on her new jumping castle, it was a huge hit! Sam's wondering if it's possible to get one big enough for him to have in our backyard! Anyway today's photo is technically wrong on every level, but today I don't care! I love her sweet expression & that's all that matters :) xx

He loves..

Anything Pokemon, especially Pokemon cards, this pic shows only a small amount of the cards he actually has! He somehow manages to talk me into buying more every time we go to the shops, but I don't mind... those few dollars I spend makes him happy, which in turn makes me happy :)

Day 7.

Rain, rain go away.

We are in for rain, rain & more rain & thunderstorms too! It's just not feeling like Summer so much around here! I'm not missing those really hot, humid days & nights though! We have had some lovely days & it would be nice to have a few more before the kids go back to school & I would be most grateful for beautiful weather this weekend... that's not asking too much now is it?!? well we'll see :)

Happy 1st Birthday!

To our darling granddaughter Avah Rose!! Today's photo is of course of the birthday girl! Let me tell you she does NOT sit still for more than a few seconds if you're lucky!! I love this one of her, just caught staring into space & she was still, for about 30 seconds!! We had a cake smash too, which Miss Avah really enjoyed ;) but those pics will be going up on my other blog, so feel free to check there a little later on tonight :)
